Open Position for Postdoc/Research Associate

Postdoc/Research Associate in Demand Forecasting for IT Applications Resources

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow, or Research Associate to work
on Demand forecasting and modeling for IT applications resources. The ideal
candidate will have excellent research capabilities as well as competitive
development skills. The candidate will be responsible to design and develop
machine learning driven methods to effectively model the future demand of an
application.

The candidate should have:
– Deep level of understanding in Resource Management Methods and Mining
Software Repositories
– Strong analytical skills and experience in developing software (prior
knowledge in machine learning (e.g., sequence models, deep learning),
optimization, dynamic programming, or empirical software engineering is
helpful)
– Familiar with Application Resource Management tools and infrastructure
stack
– Expertise with Python, MySQL, Java, JavaScript will be an asset.

Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with expertise. The position
is for one year with the possibility of extension.

Interview with Bloomberg: Regulation is a must within the AI space

Ebrahim Bagheri, professor, and Canada Research Chair at Toronto Metropolitan University, joins BNN Bloomberg to discuss the new guidelines set by the federal government regarding public servants using AI. He says while the guidelines are important another issue to consider is the unknown origin of some of the data that generative AI models use to train themselves.
